| 15th International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC) Conference
When: 23–28 November 2009
Where: Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Sydney
The aim of the Association is to facilitate communication and exchange of information between various peacekeeping training centres and/or among people responsible for, and interested in, peacekeeping training. Peacekeeping trainers and educators use this information to avoid problems already encountered by others, promote well-tested practices, and provide information to those peacekeeping countries which lack their own training centres. It is hoped that this exchange of information will allow centres to minimize duplication in their efforts, and lead to further specialisation and sharing of responsibilities.
The Australian Defence Force Peacekeeping Centre (on behalf of the Australian Defence Force) and the Australian Federal Police will host the 15th IAPTC Annual Conference.
Visit the IAPTC Conference website at www.iaptc2009.com for further information.

The 2008/09 series was opened by Professor Bob Gregory and will be followed by other esteemed presenters including Professor Allan Fels, Heather Ridout, Professor Joshua Gans, The Hon. Bob Hawke, and Tim Harcourt. Each speaker will draw on their experiences in public policy, government and business, and provide insights into the emerging issues that economists are likely to face in the future.
As well as sharing the experience of those who have made major contributions to the Australian economy, participants will have the opportunity to meet fellow economists from other public sector agencies, business and academia, and share ideas about the future challenges facing the profession.
