Emerging Economist Seminar Series 2011

Who: Economic Society of Australia, NSW Branch

Where: Reserve Bank of Australia, Sydney

The Economic Society of Australia (NSW Branch) is conducting the Emerging Economist Seminar Series for a fourth year. By bringing together emerging economists from business, academia and the public service, the Emerging Economist Seminar Series provides a unique opportunity for networking and discussion amongst economists who will be facing key economic challenges in the coming years.
 
The Emerging Economists Seminar Series is six bi-monthly luncheon seminars held at the Reserve Bank of Australia, with some of Australia’s leading economists and contributors to economic debate. The 2011 series will be opened by Prof. Bruce Chapman and followed by other esteemed presenters including Terry McCrann, Prof. Ross Garnaut, Christopher Joye, Senator the Hon. Penny Wong, and Bill Evans.  Each speaker will draw on their experiences in public policy, government and business, and provide insights into the emerging issues that economists are likely to face in the future.
 
The Emerging Economists Seminar Series is targeted to early career economists that demonstrate leadership skills in the profession.  The individuals that nominate will participate in all six seminars in the series.

International Women's Day 2012

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8th across the world. IWD is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women in the past, present and future. It is a day when women are recognised for their achievements, regardless of divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.

UN Women Australia has invested much effort in establishing itself as the lead agency dealing with gender and development issues in Australia. IWD is used as an opportunity to further reaffirm this important leadership role.

UN Women Australia has held breakfasts to celebrate IWD for the past twenty years. DKC is excited to be working with UN Women Australia in the delivery of IWD 2012 events across Australia.

Child Inclusive Practice Forum 2012

When: 15-16 March 2012

Where: Dockside, Sydney

With the theme of CIP and Beyond, this practitioner lead Forum will explore new and emerging practices as well as focus on the linkages between, research, theory and practice. 

Now in its fifth year, the Child Inclusive Practice Forum has established itself as a high calibre forum that effectively brings together practitioners working in the area of child inclusive practice to discuss current research, analyse models for best practice, and a platform to meet with other professionals working in the sector.

Supported by a consortium of agencies from our sector, the program is developed by a dynamic working group drawn from the consortium agencies, and has been developed with the emerging and changing needs of practitioners in mind. 

This is the only Australian professional development forum that solely focuses on the needs of new and or experienced child inclusive practitioners.

INSARG Team Leaders Meeting 2012

Where: QT, Gold Coast
 
The International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) is a network of disaster-prone and disaster-responding countries and organisations dedicated to urban search and rescue (USAR) and operational field coordination.  INSARAG activities are guided by United Nations General Assembly resolution on “Strengthening the Effectiveness and Coordination of International Urban Search and Rescue Assistance”.
 
INSARAG holds annual worldwide international USAR team leaders and this year it will be hosted by The Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and held here in Australia, on the Gold Coast.
 
INSARAG is organized into three Regional Groups in order to facilitate worldwide participation. The Regional Groups in Africa-Europe-Middle East, Americas, and Asia-Pacific will be meeting in March to exchange experiences drawn from previous response operations.
 
They will discuss concepts for improved cooperation and coordination between international response teams in the region and present recommendations concerning worldwide issues to the INSARAG Steering Group.

Advance Innovation Summit 2012

The Advance Summit brings together the who’s who of global Australian innovation for two days of inspiration, insights, and actionable advice.

COAT National Conference 2012

The Council of Australasian Tribunals (COAT) is a not-for-profit organisation that facilitates liaison and discussion between the heads of tribunals.
 
It supports the development of best practice models and model procedural rules, standards of behaviour and conduct for members and increased capacity for training and support for members.
 
COAT operates as a national body with membership open to all Commonwealth, State, Territory and New Zealand tribunals.
 
The annual National Conference provides an opportunity for members to share, discuss and debate issues and areas of concern or interest and common experiences as well as host meetings such as the AGM.

FRSA's 5th National Conference 2012
